Deed of Settlement

in

The Claim Komiti, and more recently the trustees of the Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara Trusts, have been involved in intensive negotiations to complete a draft Deed of Settlement, which both sets out the details of the redress to be provided by the Crown, and enables the settlement to take place once settlement legislation has been enacted by Parliament.

The ratification process is where Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara members decide whether or not to accept the settlement, and allow the trustees to enter into the Deed, through a postal ballot. See returned papers.

The full Deed of Settlement can be viewed below by download or at the Office of Treaty Settlements.

Copies are also available for viewing at the Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara office: 96 Commercial Road, Helensville, or by contacting the Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara office by phone: (09) 420 8410 or email: admin@kaiparamoana.com.

Finally, the deed is also available for viewing at Te Puni Kōkiri regional offices nationwide.
