Tribal Genoside

Tribal Genocide.

Let me state this loud & clear!

The way in how this process has been able to proceed has been nothing short of Sinister!

There are those in the know, (for those who don’t know) that have been responsible for

Aiding and abetting a system of Tribal Apartheid, created by would be oppressors and their sympathisers! A tale of stolen records, leaked correspondence, forged whakapapa, lies & deceit,     all in the name to protect a false legacy and promote a false history. There were only two tribes, & two tribes only responsible for the dividing of the land after Kaipara’s conquest and that was Ngāti Mārua (Ngāti Whātua) and Te Taoū.

There are those (descendants) of the later (Te Taoū) that have accepted that the tribe be assimilated into a government construct (312) that is their choice! But there are many others, and many others in time to come that will NEVER ACCEPT THE ACT OF TRIBAL GENOCIDE THAT IS ABOUT TO BE COMMITTED ON TE TAOŪ BY THE SIGNING OF THIS DEED OF SETTLEMENT BY 312!  (Be it on your heads!)

THOSE STAUNCH TO TE-IWI-NUI-TONU-O-TE-TAOŪ, will never agree that we are a lost tribe!  We conquered Kaipara, we conquered Kiwi Tamaki, Te Wai-o-hua & Tamaki along with it. We ruled the lands  & forests(known as Woodhill, and will never accept (EVER) that those not of those lands should have any authority WHAT-SO-EVER that is greater than that ,of the TRUE descendants, and keepers of it’s histories!

312 is a FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!! And all who support this act of TRIBAL GENOCIDE should be ashamed!!!

Rōpata Pāora  (Te Taoū ki Tāpora!)

Aue!

Shesh what are you on!

For years i've heard you say this and still you haven't told us how you come to this conclusion! Te Taou still exsists! Tribal Genocide aue! Quite frankly i find it insulting!

At the moment Woodhill forrest is in crown hands, would you perferr it to stay there!Well you know as well as i do it wont, it will belong to Ngati Hainamana or people like that And what you are saying is that our kaumatua  who laid the claim doesn't know his own whakapapa? Is this right? I remember at the hearings when the lawyer asked that researcher from Nga Puhi "so your saying Hugh Kawharu has got his whakapapa wrong" when she went to reply "yes" her mic fell over. He tohu tera?

Yes a modern construct has been formed but we are modern maori we do not live in traditional tribal societies anymore (yes another product of the breaches to the treaty) and accountability is what todays uri are asking for!

I also wonder how you come to the conclusion that the WAI312's process has been sinister? The whole process has been transparent from my point of view and i have been informed through the whole process and included in the decision making (unlike other iwi trusts i am affiliated with). All information has been available via this website. And even those not registered are included and invited to partake in discussion & hui.

When Ngati Whatua went to battle did Te Taou stay at home? I dont think so…… My nanny always said you are Ngati Whatua and i think she knew more then you! You are rubbishing what she has taught me! Whakapapa should come from its rightful place, Parents & Grandparents not brics & boons or court minutes!

Now i say these things via website because i'd hate to be attacked at a hui! I will not attend ratification hui because of the circus it could become but i will attend SGM! I applaud the hard work our komiti has done (for twenty years) and will be agreeing to the settlement package!

Wish my nanny could see how far the claims have come! Love u NANxxoo

Yesterday's Hui at Reweti

Tena koutou ki nga whanau whanui o Ngati Whatua. Mihi atu ki a koutou i roto i te ahuatanga o tenei wahanga ko Koanga. No reira tena koutou tena koutou tena ra tatou katoa…
In keeping with the 'Spring' feel I just wanted to acknowledge all the work done to date with progressing the claim from AIP to preparation of the Governance Entity to now, voting stage. It's much like a wee seed planted in early Spring and carefully nourished and sheltered till the seedling pushes through the earth.

Although the hui was small in number as Matua Glenn spoke it was representative of so many….The presentation made by Grant was clear and informative and I thought his explanations helped answer the very few queries I had. Our Kaumatua Uncle Doc and Uncle Waata were among the first to post their ballot papers with eagerness and laughter. With Uncle Loni creating more historical footage our mokopuna will have a vast archive to recall this journey. I also think the website and newsletters are fantastic and definitely a positive way for younger ones to get involved. For myself I haven't been to many hui in the past 2 years but have managed to keep up-to-date with what's happening so thankyou Margaret and Team.

Lastly but never least!!  thank you to our Whaea Awhina and Te Rongopai for serving such beautiful Kai, salad with freshly picked herbs from our own marae gardens, kaimoana (our guests espec. enjoyed your chili and garlic mussels!!) Banana cake to rival my Nanny's and Rewana bread from a secret recipe at Orakei! All in all, I think it was a very warm hui with good korero and a really positive feel going forward!!

Nga taonga tuku iho no nga tipuna

Tu ana au ki nga tihi tapu o nga maunga whakahii o Kaipara tae noa ki te ataahua o te whenua nei. Hokinga mahara ki a ratou kua wheturangitia na te mea ko ratou kei konei e tatou. No reira ki a ratou ma haere haere haere atu ra. Ki a tatou nga uri nga hapu o nga marae e rima Tena ra tatou katoa nga uri whakatipu o Kaipara. So i went to the hui a iwi at Puatahi on the 4th of July and felt really riveted to some of the korero that took place. I introduced myself as a urbanised, ignorant maori and a product of the breaches to the treaty. I spoke in english to get a proper understanding as english is my first language. And i asked “when is it okay to move forward to the future”. A concern from some of our historians or keepers of our oral histories was the need to acknowledge haputanga and manatupuna throughout our government entity proposal, Now i was confused with all this fuss as i think we would never have got to this point without this recognition hence my question. What do you think? Now the pupuritaonga unit that is within the proposal is where i envisage all these archives, histories and related initiatives taking place. The proposal also states that the trust must project and protect all these Kaipara taonga. He aha ou whakaaro? Tukua mai!

mihi miharo

Tena koutou nga kai whakarite o tenei wahi ma tatou o kaipara Moana, hei wahi whakawhitiwhiti whakaaro, ae marika. Meinga! Meinga!

Injustices and breaches

Historical events in Ngati Whatua History gives us a perspective to empathise with Maori and the injustices and breaches of early settlers and the Crown under the Treaty of Waitangi; one of our founding documents in the construction of New Zealand society. To learn of Ngati Whatua history and events pertaining to Mana whenua, tribal resources and and society then still not empathise with Nga uri o Ngati Whatua Kaipara ki te tonga would seem to be blatantly ignorant. Condoning such inamicable actions that led to these breaches against the Treaty of Waitangi is showing ones integrity and ‘sweep it under the carpet’ attitude. When I hear comments like “Treaty isn’t significant and we are all New Zealanders” it has me thinking lets act like New Zealanders by honouring the Treaty! One of our founding documents in the construction of New Zealand society.

In the spirit of Te Tiriti O

In the spirit of Te Tiriti O Waitangi, settlements were intended to be an instrument to adjust the imbalance which come about through the historic and present injustices we experience.  The sadest thing about some of this korero, is, the people that proport to represent the best interest of their people, negotiate one injustice to cover another.  Your looking at it through the eyes of those that would accept that loosing a part of who you are is justified for a monetary figure.  That isnt modern, its short sighted and sad, very sad, because soo much of who we really are will slowly but surely be lost if we continue this mind set forward.  As Maori we should be more concerned about negotiating our rights back, repositioning ourselves from our core, who we are, not accept governments perceptions of who we are or should be.
